August Potluck Great Fun!

Thanks to all the Hummel Village residents who came out for Saturday’s potluck. We had a great turnout, which meant a lot of great food as well, including a variety of salads, delicious homemade casseroles and yummy desserts! We enjoyed a game of Left, Right and Center as well, with Nancy once again taking the win.

Bocci Ball Fun!

We had a nice turnout for our Bocci Ball tournament yesterday. The weather was perfect, about 72 degrees and a nice breeze. Our beautiful park was the perfect backdrop, and participants enjoyed iced tea, cookies and camaraderie! We had prizes for the winners and also for those who participated.

Looking for a Few Good Men (or Women) for Bunco!

We had a great time at last Friday night’s afternoon Bunco game. There were a lot of happy winners! In fact, we had so much fun that for August, we’re holding FOUR Bunco games and we’re looking for FOUR new players!

If we can get four more players, we can add another table and have bigger prize money! So, if you’re interested, we hope you’ll join us at our next Bunco gathering. Remember, there is no skill needed – it’s all fun and games!

We had a request to hold the Bunco games on the weekends, so for August, we are going to hold Bunco games on weekdays AND weekends. Our weekday Bunco games will be held on Wednesdays, August 3rd and August 24th, at 1:30 p.m. in the Village Center. We will also alternate Bunco with Scrabble on Sunday afternoons. Our Sunday afternoon Bunco games will be August 14th and August 28th, at 1:30 p.m.

Join the Dice Game Fun!

Hummel Village residents have been having a blast playing dice games in the Village Center.

Left, Right and Center is a fast-paced, group dice game that has been sweeping the nation. Players roll six-sided dice and pass chips to the left, right or center. The last player with chips left wins!

Thanks to the enthusiastic encouragement of the community, this month we decided to combine the monthly pizza parties with Left, Right and Center. We were able to squeeze two games in this past Wednesday. Congratulations to our two winners, Pinky and Marie!

This afternoon at 1:30 p.m. is our monthly Bunco game. To play Bunco, players are seated at several tables and play rounds, rolling dice attempting to roll certain numbers and combinations. Winners earn points with the goal of reaching 21 points.

The best thing about the dice games is they don’t require any skill or strategy, so players enjoy a relaxing, fun time and a lot of laughs! We encourage residents to join us and try out a game or two in Village Center – we guarantee you’ll be hooked!

Candelight Supper Was a Success!

All in attendance at the Candlelight Supper on Saturday had a really good time! The main dish was chicken a la king in puff pastry, accompanied by a cucumber and tomato salad and asparagus. Dessert was delicious strawberry crepes with whipped cream, drizzled with chocolate!

If anyone took pictures at the Candelight Supper that they are willing to share, please get in touch with Ginny, as we had a bit of a problem with our camera.

Pizza Party July 20th

Hummel Village’s monthly Pizza Party will be held on Wednesday, July 20th, at 4:30 p.m. at the Village Center.

Just $5.00 for all the pizza and salad you can eat – the best deal in town!

There are no Hummel Villagers with birthdays in the month of July, so we won’t be having our usual monthly Birthday Bash, but that doesn’t mean we won’t be celebrating.

We decided to try something new and different, so on Wednesday, June 13th, at 1:30 p.m., please join us in the Village Center for our first ever Ice Cream Social!
